Flattery gets you nowhere in WordPress – or does it?

Posted by jack on April 30, 2012

If  like me you are running a WordPress based blog and you open it up to moderated comments, you suddenly acquire a popularity that seems unrelated to the contents of the blog.

Spammers can be so nice…………………………..in every possible way that does not involve any engagement with the topic of the blog.

Can someone tell me how to set WordPress to filter out the empty flattery with links to dodgy sites whilst leaving the door open for genuine posts?

Some gotchas in Salesforce data automation

Saleforce Ids are case-sensitive

If you are like me from a SQL Server background, beware; Salesforce uses an Oracle backend and Oracle Ids are case sensitive; by default SQL Server is not (and unless you are setting up a new SQL server installation this is set for you). So you need to use a Collate clause in your SQL/DML to define the salesforce Ids, otherwise you will mix up records.
